Fees for some of the additional actions that commonly need to be taken with an estate (eg. transferring a property into beneficiaries’ names) are detailed below. These sums are payable in addition to the standard fees for administering an estate. You will also see from the pricelist that we are able to arrange other property related legal services, such as conveyancing and Deeds of Trust at a very competitive rate.
Probate services (and associated work regarding property transfer/sale)
Full administration of an estate (ie. carrying out all executor responsibilities on their behalf) – The fee for this service will be dependent on the value and number of assets held and any other complexities but will typically be a very small percentage of the gross value of the estate.
Grant application only – based on information provided by the executors regarding assets/debts etc. – The fee for this service will be £749 (plus VAT). There will also be disbursements to pay such as the Probate fee of £155 plus 50p per copy of the Grant that is needed. If there is Inheritance Tax to pay, different more complex forms are required, and more work is needed, so the fee will be higher to reflect the additional amount of work involved.
